North River Shores

NRS-Main-Entrance

North River Shores was established in the mid 1950's and is one the oldest subdivisions in Martin County. The community is located on the banks of the North Fork of the St Lucie River and just a short bike ride across the Old Roosevelt Bridge from the downtown shops and restaurants of the City of Stuart "Sailfish Capital of the World". North River Shores includes property owners of North River Shores, Cocoanut Park, and North River Forest subdivisions.

The community is conveniently close to major retailers and shopping including: Best Buy, Target, Sports Authority, West Marine, Home Depot, Lowes, and the Treasure Coast Mall. The community is also close to several churches, the Blake Library, the Lyric Theater, and Martin Memorial Hospital. Nearby communities include Jensen Beach and RIO.

North River Shores is a family friendly boating community with access to the North Fork of the St Lucie River, Atlantic Ocean, Lake Okeechobee, and Gulf Coast

of Florida via our private waterways. Community amenities include four water front neighborhood parks, a duck pond, and a private boat ramp. Recent park improvements including a fishing pier, picnic pavilion, children's play equipment, and horse shoe pits were constructed in Lake Park.

The parks and common areas of North River Shores are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The focus of the Board of Directors is to maintain and improve the quality of life in our beautiful community in a fiscally responsible manner. In addition, the Board of Directors and various community committees organize events and activities for our children and residents. Community events like our annual Snow Storm, Cookie Exchange, and Picnic provide an opportunity to spend time with our neighbors and helps foster the neighborly feeling of a hometown community. The Board of Directors publishes a bi-monthly newsletter titled "The Scoop" to keep residents informed of neighborhood activities, and local events, as well as community projects. The Board of Directors also represents our community when necessary in local government issues in Martin County and the City of Stuart.

The residents of North River Shores feel the property values and desirability of living in North River Shores has remained high in large part due to the original covenants and by-laws that were used to build our beautiful community over a half century ago. It is the hope of the Board of Directors that we will be able to maintain the quality of life in our beautiful neighborhood for the enjoyment of our families for another half a century and beyond.
